Comment on Chris Christie's Culpability

So, there is an uproar about a Chris Christie political dirty trick that cost the life a a 92 year old? Evil as these actions were, what could we expect from the man being touted as the sharp tongued "tell it like it is" purveyor of austerity, Chris Christie? The bailout of illegitimate Wall Street gambling debt instruments through leveling killer austerity against the weakest of our citizenry is the road map. This is why the talking head bloviators were so morose on MSNBC's Morning Joe this morning. They are losing their knight in shining armor who was supposed to make cutting the elderly off food stamps wholesome good fun.

Money per se is a political fiction by definition.

Money per se is a political fiction by definition. That which sustains a nation's population is physical production, energy, infrastructure and technological advancement in these categories. A sane policy will seek to have a banking system that fosters rapid growth of these sectors. This is precisely what the genius of Alexander Hamilton accomplished upon the retirement of the USA revolutionary war debt. Today we have thrown this principal away by having a banking system that is beholden to a criminal speculative looting of these very same sectors. The repeal of Glass Steagall was the final nail in the coffin that delivered our economy to the "too big to jail" financiers' diabolical machinations. As Jacques Attali, the permanent Presidential adviser in France recently noted " the only difference between Madoff and the Western governments is that Madoff is in jail."

Comment upon Evolution

The attempt to define evolution as a directed and causal series of inheritance of traits, points at a larger issue that unfortunately hampers progress in science itself. That issue is the zealous quasi-religious adherence to a doctrine of stochastic probability. This is really a question of ontology that has played out over at least several millenia. When Heraclitus ironically cited change as the only constant substance of reality, this was succinctly brought into human consciousness. Einstein's quip that God doesn't shoot pool was of a piece. Leibniz' critique of Newton's dead clock winding ontology in his debate with Clarke, likewise. A vision of a mission that directs scientific inquiry must govern how we proceed. Such is the eradication of disease, the establishment of a defense in space against future impacts from comets and asteroids, and finally evolving an energy regime of controlled thermonuclear fusion. One must start from the standpoint of necessary human evolution.
